Education

I have a Ph.D in Education, which dealt with societal conceptualisations of invisible disabilities. It involved a substantial analysis of educational policy, and social theories of the normal/Other bodies from 1900 to the present. I began teaching whilst an MA student, and have continued and developed my practice through lecturing at both graduate and post-graduate level. My MA is in Contemporary Literature. Experience

I have 10 years teaching experience. In the past I have taught English both an Academic Practice (EAP) and as a Foreign Language (EFL) at University level. I have also taught Basic Skills and Special Education Needs (SEN) to young people excluded from mainstream education. Whilst completing my PhD I worked as a Student Ambassador and, before this, I worked as a volunteer teacher, supporting dyslexic African Refugees. I have also trained teacher-trainers in the Department of Education at University of London on Diversity and have published several articles on writing.
