Education
I have a Ph.D in Education, which dealt with societal conceptualisations of invisible disabilities. It involved a substantial analysis of educational policy, and social theories of the normal/Other bodies from 1900 to the present. I began teaching whilst an MA student, and have continued and developed my practice through lecturing at both graduate and post-graduate level. My MA is in Contemporary Literature. Experience
I have 10 years teaching experience. In the past I have taught English both an Academic Practice (EAP) and as a Foreign Language (EFL) at University level. I have also taught Basic Skills and Special Education Needs (SEN) to young people excluded from mainstream education. Whilst completing my PhD I worked as a Student Ambassador and, before this, I worked as a volunteer teacher, supporting dyslexic African Refugees. I have also trained teacher-trainers in the Department of Education at University of London on Diversity and have published several articles on writing.

Hobbies
I am a researcher and entrepreneur with a longstanding interest in the intersection between pedagogy, technology the arts and community. Whilst a student, I participated in research training, conferences, workshops and seminars. I also initiated a publishing house, project managed various publications, designed and maintained a website, and accrued public funding through successful written project proposals. Since moving to Aarhus from London, I have worked as an editor, proofreader, private tutor, as a volunteer for UIC Aarhus University, and in my current role at Aarhus International School. I am computer literate, have web-site design skills, and love poetry, cooking and photography.
