Education
I earned a Master of Arts degree (MA) in the History of Art, Design and Visual Culture from the University of Alberta in 2014. (GPA: 3.94/4.00) I also completed a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) with a double major in the History of Art, Design and Visual Culture and in Psychology from the University of Alberta in 2010. (GPA: 3.84/4.00)
Experience
I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Art History 102, a survey course covering the major artistic developments from 1400-1900, for two years. I loved enriching my students' understanding of course material and teaching them how to write clear and concise essays using visual analysis. I am well-versed in many art historical topics. My MA thesis research focused on contemporary art, specifically within the size acceptance movement. I am also very knowledgeable about 20th century avant garde movements (especially surrealism, abstract expressionism and feminist praxis), the history of photography, and Asian art history. Since graduating, I have worked in contemporary art galleries in both Canada and San Francisco. As a native English speaker with 7 years of experience writing academic essays and theses, I am the perfect tutor to help improve your English writing skills, whether you are learning the basics or want to fine-tune your expertise.
